9. Microbusiness Program 2022

What's next?

We were able to learn a lot from the first year of the MEP program. We were able to incorporate a lot of feedback into the planning of the program for 2022. So for the new year we have placed a strong priority on maintaining relationships and supporting them .

Tackling and overcoming the coming challenges together with the entrepreneurs. Grow together and experience faith anew!

How do we want to do that?

PDV would not be able to implement this alone with the available employees. That's why we rely heavily on volunteer work.

  • Mentors who do practical workshops and support the entrepreneurs in their business with specialist knowledge

  • Technical assistance by students from various universities (mainly in the agricultural sector)

  • Companeros volunteers from the PDV network who personally take care of the people behind the business and "contest" the future together with them and also discuss and share topics outside of the business

Kickoff with the volunteers on Saturday, March 5th, 2022

The final preparations for the event until late at night...

Salon Larson, HCJB Grounds around 9:00 am

After a detailed training and explanation from the MEP program, the volunteers could each choose 2x microbusiness that they want to take care of for the next 12 months. Our volunteers from HDA and DMG did a great job and designed a flyer for each of the 195 businesses .

Kickoff with the Microbusiness on Saturday, March 12th, 2022

we expect over 80 microbusinesses to have registered for this event. Some who live far outside of Quito even plan to travel by bus to do so.

So it was all the more gratifying for us to welcome over 105 business founders!

I have to say that for me this event was one of the most touching and moving moments in these 1 1/2 years here in Ecuador.

Various microbusinesses were awarded:

  • which we have been traveling with for 1 year

  • which ones were particularly successful though

  • also those who have distinguished themselves through will and hard fighting

A lot of tears flowed and many were able to find new courage in God's word, many have "fallen" but now want to get up again and try again to finally escape from the spiral of poverty.

All in all, a super great, blessed event for which the team did an incredible job.
