Poverty and misery

These are the social consequences of the pandemic in Ecuador:

Poverty in Ecuador has grown adorably in the past year and a half.

Families with children are particularly badly affected.

Unicef documents in a current video how precarious the development is!

The independent observers are sounding the alarm what this rapidly growing poverty will mean for children and young people and for their future.

  • Chronic diseases,

  • lack of education and

  • Malnutrition

are a threatening reality for almost 47% of children in Ecuador.

Parents are fighting for the daily care of their families, but the situation will get worse, describe the international observers.

Unicef criticizes the role of the state with clear words.

The money for schooling and care offers has simply been saved in the past few months. At the same time, state authorities are suspected of corruption in this context. "Deprivation of the future of children and adolescents" is the name given to the approach taken by state decision-makers.

This documentation shows in a touching way what it personally means for individual families to be thrust into extreme poverty.
